200x150_placeholderSammy came to a Foster Pride computer class when he was 12. But once a week wasn’t enough for Sammy— he started showing up at his mentor’s office every day after school, and they soon fell into a routine: They would work on Sammy’s homework and eat dinner together.  Initially, Sammy wasn’t a good student, but with his mentor’s help, by the end of the year, he’d won a medal in his school’s science fair. After graduating college, Sammy got a good job; his mentor helped him work out a budget so that he could afford to buy a car and his own home; and two years ago, we danced at Sammy’s wedding. This summer Sammy and his wife Kristyn had a baby, Kaleb, who we think of as our “First Foster Pride Grandchild.”
